Exocellulase breaks down cellulose by hydrolysing glucosidic
bonds one by one starting from the end of linear polysaccharide
chain. |
 |
Endocellulase breaks down cellulose by hydrolysing glycosidic
bonds randomly, in its polysaccharide chain releasing shorter
chains of polysaccharide enhancing effectiveness of enzyme Exocellulase
activity. Endocellulase becomes effective together with Exocellulase. |
 |
Amylase breaks down starch as the
most important storage polysaccharides found in most of plant cells. |
